Festive Fashion- The Party Dress edit!

It's almost Christmas party season, and we've rounded up some of our favourites from this season's collection to wow at that staff Christmas party or New Years Eve event! We know that there will be plenty of opportunities to dress up over the festive season, and we've got some winning dresses to see you through. This is the ideal time to get yourself all dolled up, and our 'Satin Sirens'  dress collection has some great little numbers to add to your wardrobes.

Alluring Angie

First up is the Angie dress in black or red stretch satin. With a smouldering cut out back detail and gathered bust, this fitted style really shows off your curves to their best! We would pair it with some seamed stockings and some killer heels to really wow.

Sultry Miss Moneypenny !

Next up is our 40's/50's inspired number. The Miss Moneypenny dress. It comes in black and green stretch satin with ivory contrast details. Figure-huggingly beautiful. We think the green is the perfect festive colour, or go for classic black. The Sanda Dee dress is available from an XS-4XL.

Mysterious Mylene.

The Mylene dress is our swing dress in the collection. Wear it alone, or with a petticoat for added Va Va Voom! Inspired by 1950's styles, we think this is a classic for your wardrobe that can be relied on time after time. Go for the classic little black dress or bring some colour into your life with the burgundy or green! All styles have a matching belt and are available from XS to 4XL.

Exquisite Eternity dress

We love the Eternity 50's dress. With red roses on a black background, and wide black waisted belt.
We love that it has longer sleeves for that bit of extra cover up in the winter months. Team it with a petticoat and your favourite heels for an instant festive style update.

Marvelous Momo!

Last but not least. we couldn't leave out the gorgeous Momo 50's dress in burgundy. We restocked this classic from last winter because you just can't get enough of it! Now available up to a 4XL, we think there will be a lot of pin up beauties rocking this dress over the next few weeks! It really is a wardrobe staple and looks stunning with a petticoat to fill out that volumous circle skirt.!

Spring Preview!

Spring fever

When gearing up for Spring here at Hell Bunny HQ, we went a little crazy for gingham.  It's such a perfect fabric for 50's vixens and lolita girls alike. The hardest decision was which of the many colours to go for, and in the end we decided to go for sugary sweet lavender, baby pink and luscious lemon.

Style wise, there's something for everyone, with swing dresses, Lolita style offerings and a more casual everyday number. We think you should unleash your inner Dorothy with these gingham lovelies!
We love to offer some style tips with our dresses from time to time, and created a few 'How to Wear it' examples with these if you're struggling for style ideas! Make sure you check out our Polyvore page for more ideas!

Jinmu dress

You'll look sugary sweet in this Lolita dress, with gingham fabric, two shoulder straps with white trim, and lovely lacing up the front and on the pockets! It works both with and without a petticoat (although we paired it with our 21" petticoat for the photos if you're wondering)!

Lazyriver dress

For the 50's sirens out there, we created the Lazyriver swing dress. It perfectly showcases your curves (with its fitted waist and gathered bust) whilst giving you some coverage on the upper arms and hips. We're dying to see someone take it on a spring picnic with that special gentleman ;)!

Saturday dress

For a more relaxed and everyday look, the Saturday dress is great. It's just really comfortable and easy to wear. The bodice is jersey and has shirring elastic panels in the back and he star-shaped buttons give it that extra touch!

Alika dress

Available in 5 colours, the Alika dress is in our classic halter-neck shape with shirring elastic back panels which stretch to fit the wearer. Looks awesome with or without a petticoat!

The Peurbakkentocht

So here's a question... How many Hell Bunny dresses can you fit on one boat?

We were so excited when a picture of 'The Peurbakkentocht' popped up on our facebook page recently. And I'm sure you can see why from the photo below!!  So, we were curious as to what this was all about and got in touch with one of our stockists Dominia from The Netherlands to find out more about the reasons behind this boat full of ladies decked out in our dresses!

So the reason that so many fabulous looking ladies are donning Hell Bunny dresses and floating down the river? It turns out that it's a festival called  'The Lakenfeesten'. The Peurbakkentocht kicks off this four day festival, where colourful decorated boats float down the Leiden canal. Dominia have their own boat each year, which this time happened to be decorated with gorgeous ladies dresses in Hell Bunny dresses...We approve!!

And the history behind all of this? Well, originally, centuries ago, all herbs, spices and cotton were sold by boat through town and all of the entrepreneurs made as much noise as they could to let the people know what they where selling from their boats. This particular boat was called 'Peurbak' in dutch.

Nowadays, companies, local shops and sports clubs participate to this event to promote their business. And prizes are given to the most original and creative boats. As well as the local businesses, some of the local people from Leiden participate as well and dress up.
Raymond Harper -www.raymondharper.nl

This was our 4th time that Dominia have participated and their goal was to let people in town know what they are selling at that time. They wanted to show the 'Leidenaren's' that they sold colourful dresses and not just black and gothic garments, and their theme was 'Rock and Roll' A perfect excuse to show off our dresses !!

Domina use the afternoon to do hair, make-up and dress up the lovely ladies on the boat. After that it's pizza and fruit time, and at around 6pm the party starts!!  The boat then floats through the centre of the city and is watched by thousands of residents and tourists.

And a little history about Dominia from the owner Kim-

At first I  graduated as a carpenter, but in that period it was hard to find a job, since the furniture industry had trouble. My family told me I should open an alternative shop, since I was always busy with costumes and such. So i took the plunge and here I am! My shop opened on August 4 2004. Almost 8 years ago!
The name is actually a puzzle. I have a fascination for bugs and butterflies. I collected taxidermy bugs and butterflies. So in order for my name I used the name of a Moth that lives during the night.
The 'Neochera Dominia'. I also used this as my logo, but with a little skull hidden in it.
