Hell Bunny Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Backstage sneek peeks!!

 Hell Bunny Photoshoot Autumn/Winter 2012-13

A couple of weeks ago, we shot the new Autumn/Winter range for Hell Bunny.
You may be thinking, wait, we didn't even get a summer yet, what are the crazy folk at Hell Bunny doing photographing a winter range..!? Well, here at Hell Bunny, we work in advance and design collections up to a year ahead of them hitting the shops for you to buy. We usually have 2 photoshoots per year, each bringing a new look to the Hell Bunny collection.
Our photos go worldwide, so it's really important that we nail each shot. Initially, they go out to all of our stockists across the globe. We produce a (trade only) biannual catalogue for our stockists to browse our new styles.
As well as the catalogue, the pictures also appear on the websites of many of our stockists, on our own wholesale website, and eventually will be posted on our much loved and visited facebook page.
The pictures go up on the facebook page as soon as they are in the shops, (or sometimes a little earlier if you're very lucky) !!
Our photoshoots have grown over the past few years, from a small team of a photographer, Hell Bunny staff and models, to the giant team of professionals we have behind us today.
This time around, we had a fantastic group behind the photoshoot. Our favourite photographer Phillip Waterman was ready to capture the shots, with his trusty digi assistant Ian Kirby.
Stylist Deborah Latouche was on hand to make sure that every detail of the outfits was shown off to its best. You can see her at work in the image below alongside hair stylist Jason Crozier who made sure the models hair was styled to perfection. And,  last but certainly not least tanya chianale provided some excellent make up for the models.

We always have a lot of fun whilst shooting here at Hell Bunny, as you can see from the backstage photos! It's a long and tough few days for all involved, but the results are always fantastic.

The team, hard at work, to make sure the models look great on camera (not that they need much help in that field ;-)! )

The Peurbakkentocht

So here's a question... How many Hell Bunny dresses can you fit on one boat?

We were so excited when a picture of 'The Peurbakkentocht' popped up on our facebook page recently. And I'm sure you can see why from the photo below!!  So, we were curious as to what this was all about and got in touch with one of our stockists Dominia from The Netherlands to find out more about the reasons behind this boat full of ladies decked out in our dresses!

So the reason that so many fabulous looking ladies are donning Hell Bunny dresses and floating down the river? It turns out that it's a festival called  'The Lakenfeesten'. The Peurbakkentocht kicks off this four day festival, where colourful decorated boats float down the Leiden canal. Dominia have their own boat each year, which this time happened to be decorated with gorgeous ladies dresses in Hell Bunny dresses...We approve!!

And the history behind all of this? Well, originally, centuries ago, all herbs, spices and cotton were sold by boat through town and all of the entrepreneurs made as much noise as they could to let the people know what they where selling from their boats. This particular boat was called 'Peurbak' in dutch.

Nowadays, companies, local shops and sports clubs participate to this event to promote their business. And prizes are given to the most original and creative boats. As well as the local businesses, some of the local people from Leiden participate as well and dress up.

This was our 4th time that Dominia have participated and their goal was to let people in town know what they are selling at that time. They wanted to show the 'Leidenaren's' that they sold colourful dresses and not just black and gothic garments, and their theme was 'Rock and Roll' A perfect excuse to show off our dresses !!

Domina use the afternoon to do hair, make-up and dress up the lovely ladies on the boat. After that it's pizza and fruit time, and at around 6pm the party starts!!  The boat then floats through the centre of the city and is watched by thousands of residents and tourists.

And a little history about Dominia from the owner Kim-

At first I  graduated as a carpenter, but in that period it was hard to find a job, since the furniture industry had trouble. My family told me I should open an alternative shop, since I was always busy with costumes and such. So i took the plunge and here I am! My shop opened on August 4 2004. Almost 8 years ago!
The name is actually a puzzle. I have a fascination for bugs and butterflies. I collected taxidermy bugs and butterflies. So in order for my name I used the name of a Moth that lives during the night.
The 'Neochera Dominia'. I also used this as my logo, but with a little skull hidden in it.

Why hello there!

Well hello there Hell Bunny lovers! After so much interest from our fans over at the Hell Bunny fan page over on facebook, we decided it was high time to create a blog to share the Hell Bunny love!

So, now that you're here, why not give us some love by following the blog on blogger or blog lovin' (Link for Blog Lovin' is at the right of the page) so you can keep up to date with the happenings at Hell Bunny HQ!!

Zombie Unicorn World Domination-Phase one !

Well, we've been having so much fun over at the Hell Bunny facebook page recently! It all started when we happened to notice a lot of love for our zombie unicorn dresses, the zombie petal dress and I heart zombie mini dress. Tonnes of our fans were posting photos of themselves in these two little numbers! We figured there was a lot of love for the zombie unicorns and we have to agree...what's not to love about a zombie unicorn?
In honour of this, we decided to create a folder to share the love and since then, even more of the wonderful ladies that are the Hell Bunny fan base have shared their awesome pictures with us... These are a few of our favourites from the album which you can check out here !!

Gotta love this little photoshoot featuring the I heart zombie mini dress, the colours work so well with the dress, and love her hair so much...makes us want to break out the blue hair dye more than a little ;-)!

Ooo, we love the ripped up fishnets, perfect accessory to face the zombie unicorn apocalypse!

Looking really sweet here in the zombie mini dress! Love this sunny picture and dreaming of sunshine more that a little over here in the wet and windy isle of England ;-)

oooOoOOOooo...! We got a bit excited when we saw this photo shared by one of our fans, what better way to wear the zombie unicorn mini dress than with a zombie unicorn abandoned in the woods...a tiara, awesome pink hair and....a chainsaw!! Not that we condone chopping up unicorns with chainsaws..we happen to like them! But wooah great photo opportunity if ever we saw one!

Gotta love these photos from on our favourite regulars over at Hell Bunny land! The Lovely Emma Joy Joy rocking our zombie mini dress. We have a little wardrobe envy from this lady and always love to see her pictures!

Thanks to Lucky 13 for sharing this photo of the zombie petal dress...and just check out those fab Hello Kitty style glasses..We found a similar pair here if you're looking-tequila star on etsy

And last but certainly not least, this photo made our day! Hell Bunny zombie unicorn to the office? We think so! What a great way to liven up your day job by wearing this number! We wish we worked in such an open-minded office environment...oh wait we're at Hell Bunny HQ where anything goes!! haha =)

Thanks ladies for joining us on this Zombie Unicorn adventure, and to the first of an exciting blogging journey!! Make sure you follow us for many more exciting blog posts! And love to hear your comments.
